hey jewish hospital!/introduction — Brooklynian

hey jewish hospital!/introduction

i'm going to be moving into one of the jewish hospital buildings next week (the one on st. marks) and just wanted to say hi! i know a few of you live in the complex, and maybe even a few in my building, so i thought i should introduce myself.

any tips about the building/management?...i already know about the eternally non-existent laundry room and the never-being-built grocery store/coffee shop.

anyway, i'm excited to be moving to crown heights (from the crazy boro park), and look forward to meeting some of you.

thanks for all the helpful posts on this board.

  • Welcome, Alyssa. You've arrived at a good time. That portion of the neighborhood is showing some positive signs. Several restaurants have opened and there's some new condo development. Hopefully a bar will arrive sometime soon.
  • Great building-Congrats!
When you get settled have abig party and invite us- I'd love to see it on the inside.

    already planning on it
  • i live in the hospital (not your building). court cases and laundry lies aside, i like it -- we renewed our lease. my tip regarding the building is to be nice to Super Enis and richard (his assistant). they are awesome.

hehe, i'll keep that in mind...I don't even have a super right now, so i'm sure i'll be more than appreciative for anything they do!
  • This seems like a great community! I've been reading for a few weeks as a guest. And, like the original poster, I wanted to offer an introduction. You know, start earning a little credibility. 8)

I recently moved from Queens to Brooklyn, and I'm living in one of the Jewish Hospital buildings too. In my research of my new neighborhood, I found a lot of useful information on these forums. Thanks!

I like that there is a board like this (I never found something like this for my Queens neighborhood) and that I have such passionate and active neighbors. Y'all wouldn't squabble if you didn't care. :)

I am LOVING Brooklyn so far. I got to Brighton Beach in 45 min on Sunday. There's a 24-hour deli across the street from me. The grocery stores have nicer stuff, and there are more bars and restaurants close by. I have a lot more friends in Brooklyn, and I love being able to pop over to Park Slope to hang out. Prospect Park, the museum, the gardens, and the farmer's market are all a hop, skip & a jump. My commute to work is about 20 min shorter. I looooove my apartment. And the Cute Guy Quotient seems pretty high! I'm so happy to be here! ;)

    See you around!
