Exploding Manhole 8/7??

Last night we were having major electrical brown outs in the neighborhood...specifically on Lincoln Place between Kingston and Brooklyn. We walked around the block to find smoking manhole covers on Kingston between EP and Lincoln...the fire department didn't seem too concerned as they caution taped the street and then all left before Con-ed ever arrived. Did Con-ed ever come?? Anybody have any info?? Just wondering...

I wonder what ConEd's excuse will be about that one. It hasn't been that hot this week for another power outage due to overuse of power.
