New York City Libraries. — Brooklynian

New York City Libraries.

First off I'd like to thank Carnivore for posting over on Bayridgetalk about our forum.

I'd like to though talk to you about an important subject that affects all New Yorkers. Now the New York City Public Libraries I know there three separate branches, but in all 5 boroughts currently the city has planned to cut funding, hours, supplies, and staff due to budget cuts the same budget that is hardly on time.

Currently the libraries in the 5 boroughs average a meger 38 hours per week in operation compare it to some cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles which are averging well over 50.

Our libraries are the foundation of our neighborhoods, our kids, our new familes, and most of all the tool for everyone to read and write.

I have been on a tour visiting as many libraries as possible over the upcoming weeks passing this petition along, as well as a letter writing campaign to councilwoman Christine Quinn who is involved in this situation.

If you have any thoughts on this or just want to see what I am about, and excuse the bad grammar lol please visit www.petitionspot.com/petitions/helpthenycpl

This site is great keep up the good work, and I hope everyone thinks about what is happening because this affects every new yorker.
