Locksmith

I am moving to the neighborhood and want to install a security gate on my fire escape window. Does anyone know a good locksmith? There are so many and I've heard so many bad stories - I'd like to go with a recommendation.

I bought a window gate when I moved into my current place a few years ago. I found the locksmiths to be really awful. They won't give you a price until they come to your house to install the thing, and then it could very well end up costing more. I got the impression that most of these locksmith companies were kind of pushy, like used car salesmen.

Instead I bought one from a hardware store. They sent a guy over to install it. If the installation is overpriced, sometimes you can ask your super to install it for a fee that might be more reasonable.

Pintchik would probably have security gates, or Moe's, or that hardware store on Washington.
