Round Trip to and from LaGuardia Airport

I need to pick up a a friend at LaGuardia Airport on Thursday morning. I just called Arecibo and they will charge me full price (1way x2).

Does anyone have any low cost ideas? She arrives at noon.

Subway (1/2/3/4/5/A/B/C/D) to 125th Street in Manhattan and the M61 bus east to the airport. That's only $2 with a free subway to bus transfer. --E.

what about zipcar? probably cheaper unless you have to park at the airport too.

Zipcar is great for this sort of thing, too bad a membership can't be had in under a week's time... When I pick someone up from LGA with a Zip, it's usually less than 20 bucks.

Both great ideas... Except time is of the essence and I do not drive!

I think I am going to get the bus from Penn Station and take a car service home.

if you take the N to astoria blvd & then transfer to the bus (especially good with no luggage) it can often take just under an hour - depending on the time of day.

Where do you get the bus? Is it obvious? How often does the bus run?
