Little League in Von King Park (Bed-Stuy)

Just wanted to let everyone know that Inner City Little League has started its 2007 season at Von King Park. If you like baseball or just getting some sun in the park during the summer, come on out and watch a few games. The kids play every Saturday and Sunday and there are also games during the week.

How can I sign my son up in this league. Is it too late? And do you know of any other leagues in the bed-stuy, fortgreene, or clinto hill area.

Yes, its too late for this year. ICLL has sign up in January, winter ball practice (indoors at Concord Baptist Church) starting around February and opening day is usually in April. The kids play from April until the late June with the playoffs usually wrapping up right around the 4th of July.

However, there is a PAL team that plays at Von King as well. Their games start after the little league season is over. You can go to the parks department kiosk at the park to get more information. Michael Harris who is the ICLL commissioner also coaches the PAL team, so you can also ask him if you see him. All the kids playing ball in the park know him, so ask any of them to point him out to you.

There is another league that also uses the park, but I don't have any info on them. Try asking the parks staff about them as well. The park has at least one staff person present as long as the park is open.
