If I were to tell you that I will have an available room in my fabulous one year old 1400 square foot duplex with your own private bathroom...is that something you might be interested in?

About the apartment: It's right on Wolcott between Conover and Van Brunt. It's fully furnished except for your room. Large open layout with ample closets. There is a full galley kitchen with a ceramic tile floor, double sink, dishwasher, corian counter, and full-size gas range and fridge. The apartment has central air and heat. Landlord pays heat and hot water.

The rest of the apartment has nice hardwood floors. Each room is flooded with sunlight - the high ceilings create an open and airy feeling. The living room is about 14x16 and is furnished with a dinette table, bookshelves, a rolltop desk and a TV/VCR/DVD - I may want to get a new coffee table and end table and accent chair.

Your room is about 10x12, with a large closet and a linen closet just outside. The room has its own little balcony. Your bathroom is just down the hall and is fully tiled and has Kohler fixtures and a jacuzzi tub.

There are two bedrooms upstairs - one is mine and the other is furnished as a den/study which we can share. It has a pullout sofa, a coffee table and a recliner. This leads to the 13x15 terrace with unobstructed views of the Statue of Liberty. Great for parties, barbecues and whatever else people do on terraces. We also have access to the enormous roof, one flight up with views of the water, the bridges, the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn skyline. (Fourth of July is just around the corner.)

About me: Laid back 20-something male, very friendly, neat and clean. My hobbies and interests are not peculiar in any way that would deter someone from living with me (besides the occasional Wiccan chanting that is done from 6 am to 8 am). Oh yeah, I'm sarcastic, but not in a bitter, Charles Dickens character way. I tend to get along better with females, but am open to anyone as long as you don't drink my wine without replacing it.

I smoke outdoors and encourage you to do the same. I'm quiet and respectful and, while occasional overnight guests are fine, third roommates, be they friends, relatives, parole officers, boyfriends, girlfriends or life-partners, etc. will not be tolerated unless they would like to contribute something to the house.

Move-in is June 1 (maybe June 15). We share electric and cable/internet (I have wireless). I will need 1st month and 1 month security ($2000) upon move-in date. Cats are permitted. I like cats and may get one if you don't have one. If I like you and you are allergic, I can live without the cat.
