Are posters on the Daily Heights inordinately whiney?
Seriously...
The gourmet food store sucks, the service at the local bar sucks, Tom is a pedophile... the list goes on and on! God knows we don't need to sell the neighborhood with all the new people moving in each year, but don't you think a more positive dialogue about the 'hood would be nice? Maybe even productive?
Talk amongst ya selves.

It's a message board--you expect....?
If you want positivity the internet is not the place to go searching. -
YEAH - ALL YOU POSTERS ARE BELONG TO SUCK!

Good to see you, Duke! -
Seriously?
You're an idiot. -
What about all the posts where people talk about things they love about the neighborhood? It's not all negativity by a long shot.
-
In my own defense, in the past week I've started a thread about hot news anchors and one seeknig advice on used bicycles. In the past I've complained about Cafe Shane and they're employees who bump songs at 8am and on repeat for up to an hour. Some good; some bad. Sexy reporters is definitely positive.

I laughed out loud at this post. Definitely a positive experience.

Whinge whinge whinge, DoF, you come on here for the first time in ages, and all you do is complain.

Come on, I'm not just complaining, I'm complaining about complaining. Are you whinging about my complaining? What would Abraham Lincoln say about that Dr. J? And Erika, if you're not careful I'll kick you out for complaining! I mean this board sucks! I missed the news anchor piece, but thats because I couldn't find it in all the complaints! -
These boards are always full of complaining and negativity, and that's why I never ever read them.

nobody reads the boards anymore because they're too crowded. -
new yorkers are generally more whiney. and I love just to rant
. -
Sorry to be so meta, but I'm tired of whiney threads complaining about how whiney the board is.
-
First of all. I'm not bitchy, I'm assertive. Sexist.
Second of all. Name a major event in the history of the world that was not the direct result of complaining. Helloooo. The independence of the United States of America!!
Communist.
Thank you! I will accept my stars now!

DoF - show up at the next HH not ... er ... 3 martinis to the wind (okay, fine, I'm not one to speak - manhattans should not be consumed in twos, especially after pints of cider, glasses of prosecco, etc.). I love you dearly (no, really) but when we (and I'm including myself) arrive at HHs somewhere near three sheets to the wind, we become trivial. it's very sad and I intend to remedy my own reputation!
and I'm a total whiner. which is why I always get my drink when I want it, my food when I want it, and my goddamned escort home when I'm leaving an event. it's a benefit of being whiny. and, perhaps, a perpetual drunk. -
As soon as things stop sucking people will stop whining. I mean, Home Heating Oil used to be cool but it's really gone downhill, at least you can admit that?
-
I stoppped posting because I found the boards weren't whiny enough.

You better NOT! I personally enjoy a happy drunk and I completely intend to get tossed at the next HH and tell everyone I love them.
But not before I start a rant about curbing your dogs! -

I think people might not love it that I tell them I love them and insist on hugging them. being an absurdly cheerful drunk has its downfalls. -

I was going to post something about that too... but I'm too wrapped up in the grand re-opening of Home Heating Oil. -
