Where do you work out?

Any local gyms that are clean and friendly? My belly has grown since I moved to Prospect Place. I need to get back to a workout plan!

  • Go to Crunch, which is really Fort Greene Gym (FGG bought out Crunch about a year ago).

Or try Boot Camp Fitness... I haven't tried it but people who have seem to have liked it.
  • crunch on flatbush is just fine if you need a place to workout.. they need to expand their stretching/abs area. but they are plenty of machines/usually not much wait even during busy hours. i believe it's about $79/month
  • at crunch, i usually have to wait for a cardio machine in the evening (6p - 8p)... it has gotten worse since last fall. mind you, i never have to wait too long. and, i assume it will lighten up as summer approaches.
  • i go to the dodge ymca on atlantic.
  • prospect park - get some running shoes is all.
  • so once i move we gonna run together?

i don't think swimming in the prospect park lake would be all that enjoyable.
  • second on the Dodge YMCA for $55 a month (plus a student discount if you can get it).

Sometimes there's a 5 minute wait for the cardio machines around 6-7pm, but that's it.

plus there are tons of great classes (none of which i've taken myself)
  • i took a spin class at the y once and this little 60 year old woman lead the class and destroyed me. that shit is rough!

i've finally figured out when i can go to the pool and not have to deal with too much of a crowd! today i was swimming and there were only 3 people in the pool!
  • i've been goin to park slope and fort greene fitness before crunch took over and i've loved both locations. i work out in the mornings and its totally dead. you can have your pick of cardio, weights, machines, etc... although, there are a couple of rude trainers that hog up space with their clients...
