Got a problem-need some help!

HELP!

I live on Sterling in a live/work space. One of the main reasons I moved here was the curb cut and access for my truck (essential to my work). I have a problem with my next door neighbor. He runs a mechanics garage in a rented space. He double and triple parks in about a dozen spaces on the street in front of our two buildings. He parks cars in my driveway and on the street in front of my driveway, sometimes three cars deep.

Last fall I painstakingly cleared out the tree well in front of my place, planning on planting a sapling this spring. Because this would have lost him room to park more cars, he filled in the tree well with concrete late one night.

Essentially, this guy is using both private and public space to run his business. Besides it being an eyesore, it is dangerous. I walked out my front door and was almost hit by a car driving on the sidewalk! I have talked to him but he nods his head and listens but nothing changes.

Anybody have any idea who I might complain to that might take this seriously? The cops drive by all the time and he doesn’t get any tickets or anything so I’m guessing that the local precinct won’t be much help.

Call 311 AND the department of buildings.. He is breaking the law and the DOB will deal with it...
