Teens vandalize Vini Olii window with full crowd insid

Really, can you blame them?
-
If they have parents who actually care, which they probably don't, I hope they get the snot smacked out of them, as well as some real punishment from a criminal perspective. Ridiculous. Clearly they are some teens on the road to no where fast if their parents or guardians don't set them straight.

my girlfriend always said that when that place opened it was the death knell of the neighborhood. i'm more surprised this is the first time something like this has happened to it, maybe it's a symbol for what's happening to the rest of the area?
of course, it could just be some dumbass kids, but i like to find a rationale for everything
-
What kind of idiot do you have to be to give it a second go when you fail the first time. Want to make sure everyone gets a good look at your face? They should be jailed for endagerment and stupidity and their parents should be fined.
-
too bad this isn't Singapore. they should get a good ole fashion caning.
and make their parents paid for having stupid ass kids. -
maybe IQ tests should be given before peopel are allowed to procreate?
IQ tests could solve a myriad of this worlds ills. -

I don't get that comment? The owners lived in the neighborhood when they opened the place about six years ago, and they now live in Bed Stuy. It's a fantastic local restaurant, run by local residents, that has been recognized as a some of the best northern italian fare in the City for from the beginning.
Separately, what's up Oiseau with the flamer comment? -

which comment of mine?
the 1st or 2nd? -
lol. Okay. You're last comment made me laugh at least.

i believe my girlfriend meant that when it opened it signaled a real turning point of the neighborhood, a somewhat-swanky bistro in the middle of a block that, at the time, contained very few people who could afford to patronize it. that's why it seems weird to me that the place has never sustained any kind of vandalism (that i am aware of) before.

i was walking by yesterday and figured something like this had happened when i saw the cracked glass.
it's such a lovely restaurant. i hope the kids are royally punished at home. -
apathy breeds apathy-the parents don't give a shit and neither do the kids. maybe it was a gang related "dare"
-
Blame society.
-
Just a case of teenagers doing stupid stuff when left to their own devices.
Bill Cosby is right - kids ARE retarded. lol -

that might not be far from the truth either. I noticed the blotter featered a lot of crime by groups of teens lately. -
It might be of interest to the folks on the Brooklyn Record blog to know that the owner of the building is a black man who still owns several properties in FG and CH, and was hopitalized for trying to clean up So. Elliot around thirty years b.g.
-
Yoy sure you're not talking about Daddy Green's pizza from the Last Dragon?
-
I am absolutely sure I know who owns the building and what was paid for it in the early 1980's. The individual who owns it has extensive property and he was into buying real estate long before it was trendy. Check the public records or proprty shark it is all public information.

Yes, because everytime a teenager commits an act of vandalism, it's indicative of a social ill.
Teenagers do stupid figures when it gets hot. Hopefully, they wise up before they become adults. -

I agree, i assume in the not soo different future, your IQ will be logged like your credit report...

I have seen lots of eggers and food throwing kids lately too. Kids must be bored. More community activities and outreach might help.
-
(1) parenting might help.
(2) the "death knell" of the neighborhood?? yeah, it sucks when things improve.
Howdy, Stranger!
