Would you be looking for Mad Dog 20/20 or Thunderbird? Yo4 can get those in CH.

Are you looking for full liquor stores or just stores that specialize in wine?
Does anyone know of any wine stores in Crown Heights?
Many thanks in advance! -

There are ... 3, I believe, liquor stores on Washington Avenue that carry wine. I think there are a few that have a decent selection on Franklin, near Prospect. the items that are sold at a higher volume are the best things to buy - at any of these stores I'd recommend skipping anything over $10/bottle or covered in dust - very high chance of getting something that's corked due to improper storage.

There is a liquor/wine store on St Johns b/w Nostrand and Rogers. The selection is small but they sell Ravenswood and a couple others in the $10 to $15 range -- Ravenswood is probably the highest end wine they have though.

There is also one on Nostrand between President and Carroll. -
if you're close enough to go to the liquor store at prospect and franklin, it's really worth the extra few blocks over to love liquors on washington and bergen, where they have an actual selection. oh, and i think they deliver, actually. i've never done it, but i've heard they will, even for small orders. not sure of the range.

They do have a lot of wines. I try to avoid going there, though, because the owner is a pretty evil landlord and because some of the employees called a friend of mine a maricon (without knowing he speaks Spanish, I guess) a couple of months ago. -

oh well, we mostly just haul stuff back from trader joe's anyway.
and i have to admit a soft spot for fermented grapes, even though others on this board have proven how overpriced it is. they're just so nice in there. -

He's a classless jerk. And the compliment {being called a maricon} has been loudly returned to the owner, so tell your friend that. I'll tell you that story sometime, next time I see you.
