Track and Field Recommendations!
Hi -- I'm putting together a track and field day of sorts for a group of friends (traditional events, like tug of war, and not so traditional, like spelling bee) and am looking for a place in the neighborhood (or close by) outdoors to do it. Anyone have any recommendations? The obvious choice is Prospect Park, but it's just so humongous and i don't know it SO well... so any suggestions for areas in the park, or other outdoor spaces would be much appreciated! A place where drinking is allowed would be stellar too, but i know the city parks aren't so into it... Thanks!

You can try the park between the BPL and the botanic gardens. I don't remember the name but someone here should be able to give it out. Its large enough for cricket to be played inside which should be large enough for whatever you need, plus its got a playground area and benches.
