A NEW kind of movie theatre...what would YOU want it to be?

The answer is lower cost movie theaters. I can understand hiding at home, but part of the issue is a shrinking community feeling. For the mainstream films I can see waiting and watching them at home. But I would not mind a cheap place to go see independent films.. for crying out loud just something different! Maybe actually a restaurant like area so you can eat while watching.. and some sort of croud control for the inconsiderate morons that are almost always in the minority..

I think what's needed is a club system where you have to buy a membership to go to a certain swanky, high-class theater with lots of amenities like couch seating and food.
Act rude once, and bouncer/ushers will warn you that your membership is in danger of being revoked. Do it again and it's gone forever, no buybacks allowed. No smoking, no cellphones, no loud talking, no hassling the other members. And that first infraction is kept on the record for, say, a year, so "you have been warned" means something.
Harsh, but until they invent a bozofilter for reality, it's the only thing I can think of that will work. Invitation-based social networks do seem to be quite the thing lately. -
I am old enough to remember this phenomenon. When I lived on e.21st street of church ave there were 6 theaters within a spitting distance.. Some were elegant.. Like the Loews Kennmore.... huge theater... one screen.. remember seeing Straw Dogs there (never got over it.) Then there was the Granada.. few blocks up Church.. admission $1.... I am not kidding.. Even in 1971 would I have cared if my feet stuck to the floor and the projectionist wasn't too hip with changing reels ?(which needed to be manually done back then) No way... cheap thrill.. Oh geez times have changed.. I look at the red envelopes here from NetFlicks and wonder if I should stop my membership.. havent watched one of these three movies sitting here in a whole week!
I miss those days when people went out to see a movie and no one questioned why a movie theater was not as pretty, clean or neat as my livingroom... ah a time when people lived in at least 3 rooms.. a bedroom, livingroom and kitchen and of course the bathroom that didnt even count!!
Times are not gentle now..
So why would going to the movies be so?.. Even If it costs 1/7th of my whole rent in 1970... yeah no kidding $10x 7 equals $70 rent.. my rent for that spacious digs in 1970..
