Subject: New to Brooklyn
I admit that I am definitely a newbie to Brooklyn! I am looking at a place near the intersection of Bedford Ave and Myrtle Ave. Could anyone tell me more about this area? Is it technically in CH or BS? I have conflicting maps... I appreciate any thoughts, advice, warnings, or tips that you could give me about this area.
Thanks. -
That is Bed Stuy proper, but there is a movement to call it north Stuy or Clinton Hill east or Bedford Hill. You will be just fine and living among the most loving people the world has ever known, welcome.

That is really interesting - I am reading that Bed Stuy is so large that some people feel it should have subneighborhoods... I'm excited to hear that the people are nice - thank you for your welcome.
Do you live in this area? What is most important to know about Bed Stuy proper? Can you give me any advice as to the best places to check out when I arrive?
Also, is it difficult to have a car in this area? There appears to be street parking around my building - but is there a lot of problems with cars being broken into or anything like that?
Thanks! -
I have owned a few cars and have not had one broken into recently, but when they were broken into it was in broad daylight on 33rd bet. 1st and 2nd three times (I worked at the hospital there) outside of Coles Sports center bet. Houston and Bleeker and the last time was near B'way in the teens (the only break in after dark). I have never had a car broken into in Brooklyn.
I would not be without a car and it is not easy as a garage parking on the street but I do not get any tickets.
Check out everthing you see that fits you, and I can't think of anything that would be important to tell you important that is distinct to Bed Stuy.
Bed Stuy is not large enough to be divided that is why the streets have names.
Howdy, Stranger!
