Does anyone except me have long cable/internet outages? This is madness Im paying for something that only works half the time. Then when I call cablevision they send someobody and he checks everything and says its fine. Then it goes out again a few days later.

we went through similar problems for a while and different cablevision people would come out and attribute it to different causes and fix different things, or not fix them but putter around for a while. obviously most didn't have a clue. somehow, eventually, it got solved.

meanwhile, every time it's out, when you call for service, also demand to have the days you were out of service taken off your bill. they don't mention this but will do it if you ask. also, when a service person does not arrive within the appointment window, you get $20 off your bill--again you have to call and ask. (your time's worth more than that but i figure money has a better chance of getting their attention.) finally, if you've had a few clowns come out and not be able to fix the problem, ask for a superviser to come next time. they'll send one if their tech people have struck out a certain number of times.
