  • Oh great, more roasted corn and tube socks. I hope this year most of the vendors will be locals and not a bunch of trinket hucksters from out of state.
  • Hilarious, Slopehead!

Don't forget the sausage and peppers!
  • Just hope the rain don't fall, cause my B/f business is going to be out there vending
  • i'll operating the dragon finger booth again

"dragon fingahs! dragon fingahs! yo lady, you wan dat sweet r hot?"
  • The itinerant mozzarepa vendors are already setting up, but this particular street fair tends to have a very high proportion of local participation compared to the street-clogging tube sock spectaculars in Manhattan.

Blue Ribbon Sushi had deeelicious soft shell crab maki last year.

Karl, will you be hovering above the crowd?
  • sadly no, i have no powers of levitation

    i'm a druid, not a magic user
  • Now there's silly string all over the street. What happens to that stuff? It doesn't look very biodegradable ...
  • Here's my wrap-up:
More garbage than I ever remember
    Less tube socks
More public displays of drunkenness than I ever remember
Less local businesses than I expected
More of the same boring street fair sameness than I expected
Less reasons to want to go back next year
  • Seems like there were fewer places selling quality beer this year. I had to walk several extra blocks to find a decent wheat beer! Horrors!
  • Some Notes:
Bierkraft had Brooklyn Blast, one of the best IPAs I've ever had.
At buscuit they had six point sweet something or other - Really good
'Tween the wife and I we shared four rolls from Blue Ribbon.
After that we shared a Kobe hot dog from Stone House- yummy.
Turned around at our friends bar Excelsior.
Had an Apollo, then a Kelso nut brown back at Bierkraft.

All in all a great day.
  • The Six Point Brownstoner (Brown Ale) was fresh and top notch! The higher (numbered) streets seemed to be more euro-centric in beer selection but we hit the good stuff (american craft ales) down in the named streets.
  • Anybody adopt that beautiful akita or the big schmooy pit mix at the pet adoption tent by Commerce? Maaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn, what a handsome beast.

quig, that's Six Point Sweet Action. Their Brownstoner and Bengali Tiger are also faaaaaabulous. Bummer that the Brooklyn Blast double IPA wasn't available in Growlers yesterday.

We had rolls from Blue Ribbon Sushi, and split a couple ribs with habanero sauce from regular Blue Ribbon. Yum.

There were less local vendors than last year, but at least the local food places were doing much better biz than the crappy sausage and pepper stands...
Overall, I liked it better last year, and I like the north end much better, starting after the park with the kiddie/pony rides.
