Craving a beer outside - where in the slope?

A few weekends ago i was looking for a bar where i could sit outside on a warm sunday afternoon and have a beer, but aside from the Gate (great but packed to death) i couldn't really find much.

Did i miss something? is it my impression or all places that have seats outside are restaurants? what is a boy to do? any advice on bars in the northern part of the slope will be more than welcome.

thanks!

  • steinhoffs on 14 street 7th ave
  • The Lighthouse on 5th and Carroll has a small porch area.
  • There are plenty of bars that have patios/gardens in the back. Get your drink on and check out the local bars, you'll be surprised how many have outdoor seating (though not always in the front). An obvious one is "The Patio" on 5th ave.
  • I recently enjoyed a beer outside at Common Wealth on 12th and 5th. I understand from this board that a much beloved bartender recently left the Gate and is now at Commonwealth. Cheers
  • Loki Lounge on 5th...
  • Union Hall. Park Slope Ale House. But why not restaurants?
  • Just watch out for us yuppies who bring their !@#$% kids! :-)
