The Bird In The Tree On Westminster and Beverly — Brooklynian

The Bird In The Tree On Westminster and Beverly

Right on that corner, there's a tree, and that tree emits the most amazing bird songs. There's either a real bird in there, or someone's playing a trick or creating some kind of sound art project. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Walk past that tree at night - it's on the southwest corner - and you'll hear the most beautiful sounds. Is it the real thing? Forgive me for being a terrible city girl and not knowing the answer to this, but if that is a real bird, what kind of bird is it?

There are many birds around here, since Prospect Park is so nearby. European Starlings make some crazy sounds though, including wolf whistles, and imitate many other birds. They always sound like they're having fun!

There are also monk parakeets around here; I hear there is a sizeable colony at Brooklyn College.
