Laundry City dropoff, anyone? — Brooklynian

Laundry City dropoff, anyone?

I normally do my laundry in my building, but I have a TON of dirty clothes this weekend and one of our dryers is broken. Bubbleworks takes too long and laundry.bz doesn't pick up or deliver on weekends, so I was thinking about dropping it off at Laundry City (formerly Laundry King) at Grand and Prospect. Has anyone used their dropoff service? How long do they usually take? I searched for old posts on this and didn't find much info. Thanks!

  • I used it YEARS ago. and, more recently, approx 1.5 years ago a houseguest used them. they do not guarantee next day service. they do a good job, but bear in mind that if you drop off at 9 a.m., you might not get your laundry til 9 a.m. 48 hours later.
  • I use the place at Underhill & Sterling. Cheap and no problem for next day pickup or often same day. Closed on Tuedays.
  • Hrrm. Thanks for the info, all! Maybe I'll just go do my stuff myself at Laundry City (it's closer to my place) so I can get it over with. Do y'all know whether their machines take quarters or do they use those cash card thingies?
  • stupid cash cards that they charge ya $3 for :P
  • Bleh. But thanks for the info!
