FOUND - Social Security Card — Brooklynian

FOUND - Social Security Card

edited November -1 in The Classifieds
I was at the DMV at the Atlantic Center Mall yesturday and found a social security card.

It belongs to a Hernel H. Grant . It is pretty worn out , and ripped around the corners.

Anyone who knows him tell him to send me a message and I'll meet him up and give it back. I will want to see two forms of picture ID's , marriage license or a bachelors certificate , and a notarized letter saying you are who you are. :)

If I get no response in a month , I will burn it. I know SSN's are important , and I don't want it on my shoulders , might fall into the wrong hands if I were to just throw it out.

Peace out.

  • Did you tell the DMV people?
They'll go there first to find it so let them know you have it. Make sure you actually tell a manager. Also, if you end up back there for any reason, leave a flyer saying you found it on the wall.

Poor Hernel Grant, getting a new SS card is more painful than going to the DMV... well almost
  • No , I didn't tell anyone.

I was so damn pissed that I even had to be in that place. I just saw it , picked it up and kept on walking out that door. If I wanted to speak to anyone , I would have had to get back in line! You know how people get if you stand there with just a quick question for a teller- they'll think your trying to cut infront of them , and I didn't feel like getting jumped by an angry mob of line standers.

I am sure he will go get a replacement (God knows he needs one! It's so dingy and ooooold.) , I just thought to save him the trouble of standing in heeeellll!! at the Social Security office.

Mr. Grant , you have 30 days. I will bump this up once a week on Wednesdays.

    Grrrrl, it's already on you.
The second you picked it up and took it away it became your responsibility, and you kinda know that since you've posted here.

'cept Brooklynian is not big enough to count as an appropriate public notice.
So, walk your ass back down Flatbush and leave the thing at the info desk. You don't have to stand in line. Just say, "I found this on the floor last week" and walk away!!

Also, there's two H Grants listed in Brooklyn on whitepages.com
"Hi I found a social sec card at the DMV" If they can supply the Hernel, you know it's theirs...
    Make the calls!

    :D
  • Freakin' awesome!

I'm gonna call those numbers today.

    Thank you!!!!!! :)

Well , imagine if the wrong type of person had picked it up. . . identity theft and whatever else people can do with socials.

He got lucky that it was me. image

Hellllls no. I'd really rather burn it , than turn it over to a stranger. [-(

I called the two numbers you hooked me up with. . . .like about a half hour ago. No answer at either one , so I left a message.

I hope they understood what I was babbling about.I get so nervous on answering machines.Ahhh. #-o
  • It's Wednesday. . . all day.

Those people never called back. :?
  • That's it , this is my last Wednesday.

    I'm burning it tomorrow.
