Waterfront Tours
Tour hidden parts of Brooklyn's Waterfront! Ride the historic tug, W.O. Decker, into the Gowaunus Canal and Erie Basin. This four hour trip includes a box lunch, beverage and snack and admission to areas usually beyond public access. W.O. Decker’s small frame and powerful engine allow passengers to squeeze into tight spaces, and guests can expect to see the real working harbor in action.
Passengers need to reserve tickets and can call 212-748-8786 for pricing, tickets, and information on additional tours. The next Brooklyn Waterfront Tour will be Saturday, June 30.

wait, i called about this! but they said they only do big groups that can rent the whole boat! i wanna go!!!
what's the story here, sailorem? -
I will look into this tommorow. We have this these trips in addition to the large group charters, there must be a mix up at the office. I will try and get better ticketing information tommorow and keep you posted. Sorry!

Okay, so no reply from the office today, unfortunatly. I can only urge you to call again--this trip is going out and there are tickets avalible. My best guess is someone new was answering the phones and they had wrong information. Sorry about that!

i called today and got the info -- thanks sailorem. sadly, $100 is a bit out of my range right now. (i was thinking more like $25?) maybe someday when i'm more flush.
are there plans to do tours like this semi-regularly? when i called about the W.O. Decker earlier in the summer, it sounded as if it would be private tours from here on out.
on a related note, anybody got a brother in law who pilots a tug (or other harbor boat) and would let me ride along? i'm very nice (if i do say so myself) and i'm hungry to see the harbor as many ways as i can. -
I reccomend for $25 sailing on the Schonner Pioneer, also out of South St. Seaport, and the Decker is also supposed to go on some public sails (read: closer to $25) later this summer. I will keep you posted, but you can call the same number to go sailing on Schooner Pioneer any day you wish. She is the oldest working boat in the city (122 years and counting) and goes all over the harbor daily.
