Bars with ESPNU for U-20 World Cup
Does anyone know of any Brooklyn bars that have ESPNU? Ideally one in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill or Williamsburg. (If I can also bring my dog in to watch the game too that would be a real bonus.)
I'm trying to find a place where I can watch some of the FIFA U-20 games and they're only going to be broadcast in the US on ESPNU or ESPN360 on the web.

I've gone to see a few Premier League games at Alibi in Clinton Hill (DeKalb). I know they'll play 'football' games, as well as MLS... but they turned a Knicks game on over the PL championship game(!), so who knows. If they have enough people that want to watch it they'll probably show it. I'd give them a call and see. You can add my 2-3 people to your party if it will convince them. Let me know.

If you don't find anything you can always check at Vesper, on Myrtle at Hall Street. They have two brand new big flat screens, they show sports, and the place is always empty (so they may take to your request).

I'm pretty sure the Alibi on DeKalb would be your best bet...one of the owners is Australian and a soccer fan...just ask them and they should put whatever match on you want to watch. There are some Knick fans that hang out there, pretty diehard, which is probably why that game came on, but I'm sure they would be thrilled if someone asked for soccer.
btw, you can definitely bring your dog there, too. -
Call Floyd. I've seen some Champions League and Premiership games there during the season. Their site usually lists which games they will show, but it seems out of date at the moment. The Chipshop is next door.

Subject: Thanks
Thanks for the recoomendations.
I just stopped by Alibi (very cool place BTW) and they don't carry ESPNU. I'll head back for a pint or two soon.
I think the problem is Time-Warner Cable as ESPNU isn't part of the cable offerings in our neck of the woods.
Damn it. I so wanted to see Canada open the FIFA U-20 World Cup by beating Chile on Canada Day. -
