Newark Airport to Park Slope in 45 Min on Sunday Evening

There was a discussion about this not too long ago, I had to pick up my wife at the Newark Airport last night, on the way there the BQE was jammed east bound and after getting through the Holland tunnel I could see a good 30-45 minute wait to get back in.

Coming home too exit 14A off the turnpike, and came across the Bayonne Bridge to Staten Island and then the Verizpna. By Taking the Bayonne instead of the Gothals you are only on the Staten Island Expressway for a short time

  • That bit of Staten Island is usually pretty jammed up, but it can be worth it.
Also FYI, there's a $10 toll between Bklyn and SI outbound on the Verrazano, but no toll inbound.

The other trick for getting out of Bklyn quick without the BQE et al is coughing up the toll for the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel on your way to the Holland.
  • Actually the quickest way to and out of EWR is not use it at all. No matter which route you use , if it's before 12A.M. and after 7A.M. your trip will be hellish. I try and make my friends and family land at JFK first, LGA second, EWR, well, I'll tell them to get here by PATH and train.
  • I think I'd rather go to LGA than JFK but in any event, yea, EWR is a far distant 3rd
