GOOD Vets in Prospect Heights?

I'm getting twin kittens on Sunday and they will need to see the vet a few times this year. Any recommendations of good ones in the hood that aren't super expensive?

Thanks!

I love Brooklyn Vet. Hospital on Vanderbilt. But I have to disclose that I have 2 family members who work there so I feel very comfortable using them. If I didn't use them I would use Hope on Atlantic. I have also heard very good things about Prospect Park Animal Clinic. Both come highly recommended by many people on the board. Congrats on the kitties!!
  • Dr. Holloway at Prospect Park Animal Clinic is wonderful and it won't cost you a fortune.
  • Thanks to both of you...I am googling the vets you mentioned now.

So now that I have the Vet thing taken care of, I am looking for a pet owner message board or something so I can ask around about stuff like what kitty litter is most effective, etc. Google just kept pointing me to meetups. Any suggestions?
  • I use Prospect Park Animal Clinic and have found that the vets vary. I've not had a great experience with Dr. Quim and am actually not sure I'd go back there. (My cat was experiencing chronic diarrhea and pulling out her fur and he offered no suggestions. At my prodding, he suggested that we change her food, which eliminated the bowel problems but not the fur problems/rash she has.)

I do like Dr. Silverman, however.

Definitely don't go to Dr. Quim, he is still very green. But Dr. Holloway is very good. And believe me, I am very picky about who I take my cats to. I used to be a vet tech and am very particular about who I see. There really aren't too many Brooklyn vets that I have liked so far (and I have seen MANY with my rescue/TNR work) but Dr. Holloway is a good one.
