Good psychiatrist/sleep specialist? — Brooklynian

Good psychiatrist/sleep specialist?

This does NOT have to in park slope-
I'm looking for a regular doc or psychiatrist that deals with sleep disorders. Basically, I've always been somewhat of an "active" sleeper (tlaking, walking, etc) but lately (for the past 6 months or so) i've become violent with myself, including scratching the hell out of my arms/neck/chest and even pulling out my own hair (I have been sleeping alone so i KNOW its me doing it to myself.) I have no memory, but it leaves marks and I'm constantly tired so I imagine that its waking me up periodically. I would check out a sleep clinic but I dont think insurance will cover it without a doc recommendation.

Any advise? I've tried lots of at home stuff as far as relaxing and making the room more peaceful, not drinking, no caffiene, etc...help!

It sounds like you need more than a sleep specialist. Would you like any of my Jimmy Swaggart periodicals?
