The newly formed Washington Avenue Prospect Heights Merchants Association had a party on Monday, August 13th to celebrate their new formation. Hosted at Prospect Heights favorite watering hole Ripple Bar, the politicians, merchants and local residents showed out to celebrate the new Merchants Association.

  • Two questions:

    1) Where's Half Court Sport's Bar going to be? Is it going in the old Utopia/PK's space?

    2) What is the new merchant's association going to do? The old WAMA was a bust. Since then there have been a few attempts to organize with things like the website www.washington-avenue.com and the Sidewalk Stroll that was attempted last summer/fall but it doesn't really seem like anything has gotten off the ground. Can you give us some more info on what the association is going to be doing moving forward?

Thanks and it's good to hear that organization is happening in this space.
  • I would contact Mollita Muhammad at the Heart of Brooklyn to find out who the current merchant leadership is. 718 638 7700

How does this work if my pictures on Picasa?
  • I have photos on Picasa too I don't think they have the same functionality as FlickR does to allow you to embed and feed into your web page. The functionality is pretty basic for Picasa (the online component, not the desktop app)
