Fort Greene Park Summer Literary Festival. Saturday, August 18, 4:430-7:00pm, in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn (near the monument at the top of the hill).

Featuring readings by Chris Abani, Jennifer Egan, Gloria Naylor, Staceyann Chin, Roger Bonair-Agard, and student writers from local summer writing workshops provided by the New York Writers Coalition. Laurie Cumbo will be the emcee and live music/dance will be performed by the P.L.A.Y.E.R.S. Club Steppers. This celebration of the rich and diverse Fort Greene literary tradition promises to be an unforgettable event, providing a venue for community self-expression through the power of the written word.
