eastern pkwy new york-- what happened?

What was going on last night on Eastern Parkway and New York Ave? There were several police cars, flares, blocked traffic, etc. Was it a car accident? Or something else?

apparently someone was hit and killed by a car on the parkway.

At around 9:30 PM yesterday, it was a rainy night, a women crossing Eastern Pkwy between New York and Brooklyn Ave, in middle of the street, was hit by a oncoming car.



The woman was knocked off her feet and was thrown into the air. A witness who happens to be an EMT started treating her on scene, but was pronounced dead as soon as the first Ambulance arrived.

Witnesses stated that “She most of been thrown 20 feet into the air”.
