Why does the F train hate me?!

Ah, the F. F is for FAIL. Bottom line, though - the G is responsible for a lot of the F's problems. The clog-up that those useless pieces of moving scrap cause make it impossible (or at least really impractical) to run more or faster F trains. What happens if you have an F train waiting behind the F train that's waiting for the G train to clear the station in front of it while another G train is on the way in the opposite direction? Trouble. And they do like to run plenty of G trains even though ridership seems modest at best (cue the person to tell me that the G train is always mobbed and they don't run enough of them).

Other random observations:

- I swear, years and years ago I heard a P.A. announcement in the 7th Avenue station. Or maybe I dreamed it. Doesn't matter - any announcement would probably be unintelligible and even if it weren't they never tell you anything you can't figure out by yourself.

- I've noticed the 7am seems to be the unofficial cutoff time for getting a seat on the F. If you're there at 6:56 and a train comes, you're getting a seat. 7:02, you're probably out of luck. I would think by 7:30 you can forget it altogether, barring miracles.

- I'm glad they did away with that idiotic "Scenic Overlook" display 7th avenue. I'm also glad they brought the ads back to the 8th Avenue end. Those blank spots on the wall were depressing.
