Sette building goes cellular — Brooklynian

Sette building goes cellular

Yet another reason to hate:
The landlord for the building that includes the Sette restaurant at 3rd Street and 7th Avenue has installed cell phone repeaters, and all the necessary electronic equipment. They're set back well from the street eye level as not to offend, but they're up there.
That's what the crane in front of the building was there for.
Funny, as the cell guys usually go for buildings that are higher than Sette's.
Not as if cell phone reception on 7th Avenue was ever bad.

  • Cell phone infrastructure is unavoidable, especially in a densely populated area where many, many people use cell phones. You say that they're not visible from street level, so why would you care what the landlord chooses to do with his own building? How does this affect you in the slightest, unless you're one of those uneducated Luddites who thinks that electromagnetic radiation from cell phones causes cancer?
  • Nah, I'm just a s----stirrer. Some people go out of their minds if anything electronic is on the roof, even a DirecTV dish. I just hope they got their payoffs, I mean stuff straight with the Buildings Department.
There was a whole s--- storm a couple years back when someone wanted to put repeaters on his building a little closer to the Park. Frankly I couldn't care less, they're at least not blocking my view.
They put them on the wrong building, should have tried the Landmark vacant building and have it collapse ... so it'll be gone with.
