Monster Gallery on 4th Pres.

Anyone know what happened to the Monster gallery? They had some really cool paintings & sculptures. The guy who ran it was a bit of a drinker, but a nice guy. I noticed that the awning was removed last week.

I think they were a little early on the gentrification curve.
    (just speculation)
  • I have a friend that will be bummed , he thought one of the artist curated there was fabu.
  • One night, my wife and I went there to see an independent flick called Die you Zombie Bastards. It was the worst movie we'd ever seen, but the owner only charged us $5 for the both of us and gave us free beer. I thought that wasn't a bad deal. At the end of the movie we end up sitting there in silence. There was another couple in the gallery to see the movie and they got up and left. We're sitting there alone so I decide to get up and see where the owner is. I go into the back room of the gallery and he's unconscious slumped over in a chair next to a bottle of Scotch that's 3 quarters finished. It took me like 2 minutes to wake him up. I thought he was dead. It sacred the shit out of me. Just wanted to share.

I couldn't be more serious. It was a night I'll never forget. Mind you, we were also hammered on the free beer. It just added to the intesity of the situation.
