Yeah, there's that one blue sedan with the Alabama plates. Driver has an eyepatch. Scary.

i sit in my van on Vanderbuilt alot. to eat and than goto building and do some work or go back to work if its in the area. -
We've got an older gentleman on my block (Bergen between Grand and Classon) who sits in his car listening to the radio a lot when the weather's nice. He always makes eye contact and gives a little smile and a nod. My theory is that he's just doing whatever he can to get out of the house for a little while. One night I walked by right as he was singing along really loudly to "Margaritaville" -- kinda cute.

Sometimes the drivers for cab services sit about... Evelyn's around there.

I don't usually look into parked cars - learned that lesson the hard way. there used to be a hooker that worked washington ave between sterling & st. johns (haven't seen her for a long time - hope she's ok and not dead/sick) and, after an alert from rhodamine, I once peeked into a park car outside of yelison and sure enough, I saw her servicing someone. eek! never again! my eyes!

Yeah, the bus on Vandy only comes every half hour, right? Is it an hour late at night? -
I walk past the Grand Army station every night and it took me a while to realize all the people just sitting there in cars are usually waiting for people from the trains. The car service folks also do a fair amount of that near their stores, so it could be a combo of those two over there.

The folks in cars on Vandy, especially between St. Marks and Bergen, aren't waiting to pick up people off the bus or give rides to retarded children or making the world a better place in general. It's like 20% social and 80% shady. Some of them are just drinking. Some of them are just chatting. Some of them are coming by to visit the ghetto lottery or copping. It's a complex nebula of social interaction and it's depressing like 80% of the time. I've been looking out my window at it for the last 8 years.
