Stray Kitten Found - North Slope

edited November -1 in Brooklyn Pets
I found a kitten tonight (Sunday, Oct. 21) on St. Johns Place near 6th ave. She is white with dark gray patches, with a teardrop-like marking under her right eye. She is wearing a white collar with pink trim and is very chatty and friendly (she followed me home). If you think this might be your kitten, please reply to this message. Thanks!

  • You might want to crosspost this to Brooklyn Pets.
  • I heard someplace that the tear-drop under the eye indicates that that individual has killed before... be careful.

In all seriousness, do cross-post to the pets section. In all likelihood, no one will come forward to claim this cat - there are thousands of feral, stray, and dumped cats on the streets of BK. Also, any time a female cat is overly loving and outgoing, I'm suspicious of pregnancy...

I've taken the stray kitten we found on Sunday night, whom we've started calling Molly, to the vet for a complete round of vaccinations and checkup. I'm happy to report that she's not pregnant and is negative for HIV and leukemia, and while she's pretty banged up and malnourished, she's basically OK. I have an appointment to get her spayed in two weeks. The vet thinks she is 8-10 months old, and she weighs three pounds. She is dear and cuddly, a total sweetheart.

If anyone knows what unlucky person has lost this kitten, or if anyone would like to give her a loving new home, please contact me. However, if a new home can't be found, Molly can stay with us. I only hope that she and our other cat can learn how to get along!

Here is another photo of the unsinkable Molly:
