5th Avenue to be a one-way street: CB7 meeting wed, oct 24

This was news to me, so maybe it's news to others. Major changes are coming to the neighborhood traffic patterns beginning in November.

5th avenue will be a one-way street (towards the slope) from 24th to 34th street while the city is replacing the infrastructure, putting in sidewalks and pedestrian safety enhancements.

I know it's late notice but there is a meeting tonight (wed, oct 24) at community board 7 (4th ave at 43rd street) about the construction and how it will affect us. Buses will be rerouted to 4th avenue.

The contractor and the NYC department of design and construction will be on hand tonight to answer questions.

  • Did anyone get to this meeting? I read this on Thursday, and I haven't been paying enough attention to the meeting times. Can anyone update?
