my cat gave me a heart attack

So my husband had some friends over to watch the football game and when they were leaving I noticed I had not seen one of my cats. I was frantic. We checked the whole house, the yard out front for about 15 minutes. At this point the whole family is hysterical and I decide to get dressed and walk around the block and see if I can find him. I go to get a sweatshirt and lo and behold . . .



Had his tail not swung out at me I might not have seen him. Then he has the nerve to give me a look like "why are you bothering me?"

I catch my boy in my linen closet on top of the sheets and towels looking just like this. He's had the door closed on him more than once by accident.....but whenever I know he's hiding, this is one of the first places I check

This shelf is up pretty high and he never picked that spot before. I opened up all the other closet doors looking for him except that one

That's a great shot! I love how he has his butt towards you and is looking over his shoulder with disdain. I swear it is a cat's job to scare the crap out of you at least once. The grey kitten I took in recently did the same thing to me a week or 2 ago. I came in from walking the dogs and started looking for the kittens so we could go to work. I find Mumpus and go to get Grumpus (the grey one), of course I can't find him anywhere. I search the bedroom, the livingroom, the kitchen, the bathroom, under anything he could have crawled under. Repeat about 3 times with me calling him louder and louder. Finally, I go back into the bedroom and find him sleeping on his blanket on the floor. He looked up at me like, "Oh, were you looking for me? I've been here the whole time, this blanket is so comfurtabls." I still don't know where the heck he was!

Penny does that to me ALL THE TIME and he's big! I still don't know where he goes half the time. Tuly is easier to find because she can't sit still and is always causing a ruckus. Right now she's in the box with my important documents and headshots. I get to give directors headshots covered in cat hair! Yay me!

Not that Penny doesn't give her a run for the money. I caught him on the stove the other day licking old PAM from the grill pan where I had grilled some asparagus. Yuk!
