Any good carribbean/soul cooking school for novice ?

Looking a good cooking school/instruction. I love to eat caribbean / soul foods. Is there any cooking school /instruction / suggestions on how I can learn to cook well. Especially caribbean , esp. Jamaican foods. I have literally dozens of cookbooks, caribbean ones and basic level. Any personal advice/ sugestion? I am tired of buying lunch everyday at work. Please help!

Thank you!

  • Find yourself a good Carribbean cookbook. Amazon has got to have a few. And then go to town! :)

Seriously, that's how I taught myself to cook, and I do think I'm a pretty good one.
  • i'd suggest that you hit up a local crown heights west indian restaurant and offer yourself as an apprentice. what you'd learn would be incredible and it;d be free.
  • Get yourself a good carribbean boy/girlfriend and if they cant cook their family can. I did.Worked for me. I now cook the best jerk chicken, oxtail stew (smile) :D
