Recently I have come under attack from certain users and have been threatened with Site Suspension. Please Vote I'm Curious. The incidents in question are the banter between myself and Lilbangledesh.

I don't see a way to vote, but NO! KWOC should not be banned....I appreciate his perspective on many topics.

This is like a political "push poll" because it's not really designed to get information but to spread a point of view. If KWAC were really interested in everyone's opinions, he'd have put other choices, such as "no, but he should get a temporary "time out" when he repeatedly disregards the rules of the board as well as warnings from multiple moderators and admins."

For the Record I didn't make those Poll Options. Once again my thread was split/moved and I suspect Homeowner added the Options to the Poll. Please do comment, thats what we are all here for. I suggest an Amnesty program for this thread. Curse, attack, be nasty, let me know how you really feel. I promise I wont snitch to the Moderators.

Time outs seem more appropriate than banning him. If the time outs aren't effective in moderating his postings, then ban him. Why jump the gun?

I do appreciate most of KWAC's posts here. And even though he and I don't agree on certain things he has never attacked me for my opinions, etc. I personally dont want to see him banned.

But KWAC - your posts to LilBang come off as "bullyish" even if you don't read it that way. It seems the majority of us appreciate your posts and would hope that you are not banned - but if you can't follow the rules then I agree with a time out.
So practice what you preach: If you cant do the time dont do the crime

i do think he's a bully, but i don't think he should be banned. however, i agree with carnivore re: the poll, and i agree that KWaC or any other repeatedly uncooperative member should get the 'ole "sit in the corner for awhile and don't say anything" time-out.

Okay, I was going to refrain from posting in this thread but some clarification is called for here.

I'm not sure which forum King originally posted the first post in this thread in. One of the moderators moved it here because questions about how the board is operated are supposed to be in this forum, and then added the poll. The board software doesn't allow us to remove polls once they're started so I'm going to add a note to the original post to make sure it's clear that the poll was not written by King without a crown.

He is not currently suspended, nor will he be if he simply follows the main rule of the site and STOPS personally attacking and antagonizing other users.

Hope that clears things up about what's going on here. The main issue is the repeated antagonism which clearly violates the site rules.

I appreciate the inside info that KWAC provides. I don't necessarily always like the way he says things, but I don't think he should be banned, put into time out, etc.

My big problem with KWAC is not his perspective, but that his method of debate is character assassination. It is NEVER appropriate. To the extent that I've participated, I've only commented on his behavior on the board. I have never personally attacked his character like he has with me.

Mamacita sometimes irritates me, but she doesn't attack my character, she comments on my posting behavior (AND she's accurate about my faults, which is the least of what I can ask for), which I feel is well within the limits. While it doesn't incline me to feel particularly friendly towards her, I do not regard her as a bully or her behavior as at all inappropriate.

I don't mean to single her out, but just as a compare and contrast to show where the line should be (IMHO).

There have been times when KWAC does post legitimately, and in those times, I've tried to treat him like any other poster. The problem is then he descends into personal attacks. (And I've seen him do it with other users, not just me.) He does this to anyone who disagrees with him, and then he whitewashes their entire post, probably not reading it, dismissing entire posts from users when they may actually be agreeing with him on certain points while disagreeing with him on others. I've been attacked by him WHILE I WAS AGREEING WITH HIM that cops were underpaid.

The admins are right. I should take the high road. I should know better than to engage in debate a user who has no knowledge of the proper rules of debate and no respect for those rules if he does. Let me repeat again that CHARACTER ASSASSINATION IS NOT A PROPER DEBATE TACTIC.

Basically, until he learns civil decorum and can respectfully disagree with others rather than descend to personal attacks, I don't feel he belongs here.

You guys can debate this till the cows come home, but the mods and admins aren't going to base any decision on what happens in this situation on what other users say about whether they think someone should be banned or suspended, unless maybe they point out a clear, specific violation of the rules that we haven't caught before and that happened after a user has been warned to stop. We base decisions about suspension or banning on whether the user in question has violated the rules after being asked to stop doing so.

I agree that King without a crown brings an interesting perspective, and I do often get a lot out of what he has to say. Hell, I've defended him myself in situations where people were being unfair to him -- something he seems to have conveniently forgotten. That doesn't change the fact that he has violated the rules repeatedly, he has been asked multiple times to cut it out, and he has been warned now that doing it again will result in a one-week suspension.
