RIPPED OFF FOR $2352

My name is Ray. I am a life long Brooklynite who purchased a commercial property in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn about 2 years ago. I live on the second floor apartment with my wife and one year old daughter. We have been working very hard to fix the property since we have been there. I do most of the work on my own. We have torn down every wall in the house and turned it into a very nice living space upstairs.

We are planning to open an art gallery in the storefront space below and have been saving money to get the exterior in the front and back of the store finished. The crime in the neighborhood has been hard enough to deal with; a shooting in front of our property 3 days ago and countless others in the last two years. Now we have a crime being committed against us- we are being ripped off by a company called NEW YORK STORE FRONTS & WINDOWS, INC. located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

I have a signed contract with them in which they agreed to custom make and install the rear doors and windows of my commercial space that would allow me to host my art openings in the outdoor space I have. The owner, named Bob claimed to be in business for over 30 years. After cashing my deposit check for $2352 (half of the total). He called to cancel the installation date claiming his transmission died on his van. It's now been three weeks since the agreement we signed (which stated that the doors would be installed in 10 days) and they do not return my calls and have shut off their voice mail. I went by their shop to see what was going on and the gate was down. I did some investigating of my own and asked the guy who owns the bar a few doors down if he had seen them. He told me the woman who runs the place just left to pick up her son and even dialed her cellphone number for me from his cordless phone. Guess what? She answered right away for him! I tried for 3 days and nothing. One time for him and she answered. He told her he was standing with a guy named Ray who was looking for her. She apparently got angry with him and said she was driving. She told him to tell me Bob would give me a call and hung up. That was 3 days ago.

I'm not sure what they are up to but my house is very cold. I already created a huge 7 foot x 8 foot opening in the back of my house for the doors to be installed. It is now boarded up like a shack and cold air seeps in from the openings. I have to raise the heat very high to compensate. You can imagine that with a one year old daughter I am very concerned about keeping her warm. We'll I write to you now after we had to take her to the emergency room last night. She has a virus infection. Coughing and high fever as does my wife who I took to the doctor today. Not to mention the safety issue with the neighborhood.

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
