portable clothes washer
anybody have one they like/hate? i know there are some earlier posts about washer/dryer combos, but i just mean a washer, one that hooks up to a sink/tub and can be moved around easily.
obviously, given the constraints of typical leases, my interest is purely academic, just as i'm sure many of you in similar straits have acquired your knowledge entirely through reading about it in books....

We have had a Malber combo washer/dryer for heck...8 years.
It's 36X36X24" Sink hook ups, though you can pipe into it.
Best darn purchase we ever made. -
What's the load capacity? I don't want to wash a duvet at home, but how does it do with multiple pairs of jeans or bathtowels?
After 10 years, I have reached my laundromat limit........ -
Is this the kind you're looking at SweetT?

Looks great too bad it's too big for my closet-size bathroom and hallway-narrow kitchen. -
Check your plumbing! Neighbors above us have one (despite the landlord claiming he does not tolerate them) and the pipes can't handle it. The result is that the dumped water literally shoots out of our sinks and makes a huge mess, dirty mess since it also brings other nastiness out of drainage pipes. I've lots quite a few plug-in items to this (the water shoots towards one of our very few outlets).
Maybe try pouring a few buckets of water at once down the drains to see what happens. -

You "may" have to drain it into your tub (if it's the bathroom) and you have a small sink. Most say how many gallons per minute they put out and normally you can find out on-line what your sink (by size) can handle.

Please do check out the plumbing. Someone in the last building I lived in had an illegal washer and I ended up with dirty soapy water all over my kitchen floor several times a week.
