Furniture Pickup

Is there any rule about putting out a sofa for trash removal? I know people tend to just throw it out on the curb, but is there a law or anything? I would hate to get my landlord in trouble.

Im not sure if there is a law but as I understand it your bulk garbage items should be put out the day before the bulk sanitation pick up.
  • call 311. I just went through this and they were able to tell me exactly when and how many pieces I was allowed to put out.

yes definitely make sure to do this. and even sometimes that's no help if they just don't feel like taking your stuff. when i moved out of my old apartment we left our disassembled broke ass futon on the curb the night before bulk sanitation pick up. apparently they only felt like taking some of it and leaving the rest, and the next day there was a ticket from the sanitation department taped to our building's front door. so awesome of them.
