Be Crafty for teeny tiny crafts
I was so excited to read there was a craft supply store in the slope. I used to like the Rag Shop out in Bay Ridge. I really came close to bursting out laughing when I walked in the door of Be Crafty. There were four small squares of tastefully arranged felt, 5 or 6 embroidery flosses displayed as if they were semi-precious objects. There is NOTHING in that store to really make anything creative out of. What a bust! Just crafts for the anal retentive who wants to be creative but doesn't want to be too creative or make a mess. Any decent craft stores in the area--making cool stuff can be messy and usually requires a little bit of choice.

I heard there's going to be a new fabric store opening on 7th & Union. I hope they have lots of stuff to DIY with! I think Be Crafty is geared towards parents who want to get "kits" and simple stuff for their kids. The art supply store on 7th and 12th (?) has tons more stuff! I don't know how they fit it all in there--but whenever I want something odd--they always seem to have it!
