I'm going to take some printouts of the letter (already sent mine in a few weeks ago) to some local events to get folks to sign it. I'll take care of the postage.

I'm also bringing copies to festivus. if you have not yet signed a letter and live in the 77th, please PM me or see me at festivus. I'll have something for you to fill out and will take care of getting it to the crownheights coalition.

Wait, I thought the Crown Heights Coalition was going to give those letters to Kelly earlier this week -- are they doing a different letter-writing campaign with a later deadline or no deadline at all?

100+ letters were sent to Kelly earlier this week and they were discussed with him and other members of the department at his forum at Downstate this past Thursday. The deadline was to get as many as possible collected for that meeting

However, the campaign is ongoing and numbers are important. Clearly, the press has already started to pay attention but this is a tough fight and it is going to take real numbers to show that we are a united community that is going to stand up for its rights.

So if you haven't sent a letter, please do and urge your neighbors to do so as well.
