Help me out here nabes.....

I just heard about the 3rd Target in BK which will be located near the Fulton Mall. I also remember some talk about a Wal-Mart in a similar location that was vehemently opposed...

So....why is everyone so up in arms about a Wal Mart but no one seems to care about Target?

Yes, Wal-Mart is notorious for being awful to it's employees, and yes, Target is a 'step up' from Wal-Mart, but aside from these differences, I still see two major discount chains taking away business from local
mom-and-pops, which I thought was the issue in the first place.

So, explain to me please, why the big to do about a WalMart on Fulton but no one cares about a Target?

I've heard absolutely nothing about plans for another Target in the Fulton Mall area, where did you get that information?

OP, you nailed it on the head with Walmart = terrible to it's employees.

Everyone wants a bargain. Hopefully most people when made aware of abuses decide that the great bargain they'll get on a dvd player isn't worth the cost in karma points in supporting evil chains like walmart.

Target (as far as I know) aren't evil to their staff so there's no ickiness with buying their cheap goods.

Mom and pop stores still get their asses handed to them but one can reason that if another mom and pop store that offered lower prices and more selection opened up next door to the 1st place - they'd lose their business anyway.
