I've been in Placa Catalunya for New Year. It didn't look at all like that. It was very intense, kind of weird and scary. Some kind of contest to run the gauntlet of people smashing bottles accross the plaza. But their tradition of trying to eat 1 grape for every chime of the church bell is an interesting challenge.
