B45 Bus station moved? — Brooklynian

B45 Bus station moved?

I came home last night and near where I live on St. John's close to Franklin a new B45 bus stop pole was standing. There is already a B45 bus station on St. John's on the West side of Franklin, which is now not operating. Does anyone know if this move is temporary or why it is being moved?

  • The B45 has two stops on the block of St. Johns between Washington and Classon--one on the west end and one on the east end. So perhaps they're just adding more stops so people don't even have to walk a block to catch the bus. Sheesh.
  • I was outside today Tuesday 12:30 pm and the original bus station was being torn down. I spoke with the guys and they said next week a new station was to be installed and the east side of Franklin Ave. stop is temporary. I guess they will be putting up a nice new depot. Hopefully.
  • Speaking of bus stops, I've found that the B71 going in the direction of Park Slope does not usually stop at the Classon and Eastern Parkway stop, but only at the stop right outside the Brookyln Museum. Has anyone experienced the same thing? I stopped waiting there after I got burned a few times.

Umm i havent used this bus in some time but last i remember the bus stop was on the service side of eastern parkways and classon...but the bus actually stops on eastern parkway itself and picks up people. So if your on the service side the bus will pass you straight.

^this is true. i take the B71 all the time.

stand on eastern parkway proper, even with where the sign is on the frontage road. lucky for me, the first time i took the bus, someone saw me waiting by the sign (crazy, i know!) and tipped me off. i try to return the favor.

why they can't put the sign where the bus stops, i don't know, but it does stop. on the bright side, you can sit on the benches until you see the bus a block away.
