An unofficial guide for new Brooklynian readers and posters — Brooklynian

An unofficial guide for new Brooklynian readers and posters

Greetings new readers and posters!

Although not an official spokesperson for this site, I thought I would welcome you to it and give you a little guide to using it.    Five things:

1.   Brooklynian has been around since 2006, and contains a wealth of knowledge and opinion.   If you are interested in learning about a particular business  or property, we might have discussed it before.    You can use the search box on the top left of the screen, or actually use Google and type something that includes "Brooklynian" in quotes.

2.   I closely watch several large developments that are happening in western Crown Heights, meaning that I post just about everything I come across about them.     By clicking on this link, you can too:   http://www.brooklynian.com/discussion/37490/the-big-6-developments-in-western-ch-in-2013-the-big-11-developments-in-2014#Item_29

3.   To post a picture, click on this icon
imageupload.     You can find it on the top left of the comment box.

4.    At present, this site tends to focus on the rectangle created by Utica, Atlantic, Vanderbilt and Empire.    A few of the regular posters actively recruit additional readers in this area by passing out business cards.   Let us know if you are here as a result of being given one of the cards, or just via word of mouth.

5.   Some of the regular posters have met each other in real life, but many of us know each other only online.     Happy hours and other get togethers occasionally happen.     If you'd like to remain "only online", that's certainly ok.   Some longtime readers (especially those employed in sensitive positions) prefer to not sign up with the site, and prefer to tell me tips directly.    Some of the info I post on this site is via such sources.
