A Pizza Slice of a Neighborhood — Brooklynian

A Pizza Slice of a Neighborhood

My favorite description of the historical boundaries of Prospect Heights, courtesy of the NY Observer - if you're not a topping on this slice you live someplace else

"...a pizza slice of a neighborhood just east of Park Slope, with the southern crust formed by Eastern Parkway, the other edge defined by Washington Avenue, and the point located at the intersection of Atlantic and Flatbush avenues. Okay, for those who know their geography, it's a funny pizza slice."

  • Reminds me of another qoute from NY Press; its another food analogy:

    "PROSPECT HEIGHTS
    Future prospects.

    By Joshua Bernstein

Consider Brooklyn a big pie—perhaps key lime—and Williamsburg will merit a thick wedge, followed by Park Slope, Bay Ridge, Bed-Stuy, Greenpoint and so on, down the dessert line, until all that remains are a couple of crumbs and a gooey knife: that’s Prospect Heights."
