Bar Corvo gets a bike corral — Brooklynian

Bar Corvo gets a bike corral

In PH/CH there are now bike corrals on the following north/south commercial strips: 6th Ave, Vanderbilt, Washington, and Franklin.

Nostrand next?

Comments

  • Probably Bedford. Nostrand isn't the most fun to bike on and probably gets most of its customers from the subway. Bedford is far enough from the train that bike traffic likely matters more to the businesses.
  • Many of the corrals and on sidewalk spots seem to be near Bergen, as a result of having a well used bike lane.

As I've said before, I think bike corrals on Nostrand will be difficult. The new traffic pattern after SBS means that parking is really only limited to the west side of the street as the east side becomes a travel lane during the morning and evening rush. Add that to the fact the places that currently would probably support a coral on that side of the street (Lula Bagels, Nostrand Ave Pub) are both near bus stops, I'd be shocked if it happens.

Dare we speculate how well a corral would be received on the southside of EP, in CB9?

It could be located in front of the soon-to-open Branch Office (on Rogers), the now open Mountain (on Franklin), or the soon-to-open Butter and Scotch (on Franklin)....

For some reason, I think the scene would look a lot like this, with the proprietors unable to pick the role of The Hulk:

CB9 is not as reasonable as our friends on CB8.
