THREEDS is a New York City based oboe trio that includes oboists Kathy Halvorson,Katie Scheele and Mark Snyder. Formed in 2008, the trio enjoys creating new paths for the oboe and English horn, playing arrangements of pop, rock, jazz, folk and world music while using improvisational techniques. The members of Threeds have also arranged music to accompany several local singer-songwriters, including Paul Brill, Amber Rubarth, Andrew Vladeck, Jamie Leonhart and Adam Levy.  

Christof Knoche (bass clarinet) has been active as a performer
and composer since the late 1980s. A sought-after performer worldwide, he
combines woodwind mastery with live-electronics.   

The trio aims to make the oboe an instrument that is more accessible to all, bringing their music “out of the concert hall” to bars, rock venues, galleries and public places. They have played at Joe's Pub, the Living Room, Rockwood Music Hall, Caffe Vivaldi, St. John the Divine, Trinity Church, the Good Shepherd Church and more.  The trio released their debut album “Unraveled” (produced by Scott Anderson) in 2011 and their second album “Palette” in 2014. The CDs are available on CD Baby, iTunes and through their website http://www.threedsoboetrio.com." The trio has recorded at Avatar Studios, Daptone Studios and Peter Karl Studio in Brooklyn. 

PLG Arts is delighted to include the Chamber Music series in its programming, which includes visual arts exhibitions, jazz performance, theater, author readings, and other expressions of creativity in local venues.The Chamber Music series is held at various venues in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and surrounding neighborhoods.
